PIRANESI’S DELICACY
An exploration of assemblages using figures from the plan of Campo Marzio.
The task of this exercise is to explore part-to-whole relationships produced as assemblages. Not merely as aggregations, but as a 'difficult whole.' To produce these assemblages, figures are extracted from Piranesi's Campo Marzio drawing and then extruded and arranged together. As a composition, spacing, resting, and the overlapping of material start to play with each other in a way that starts to misconfigure each extrusion's relationship.
